Lake Koman and Shala River – discover ‘Albanian Thailand’

If you are looking for a unique connection with nature and want to see one of the most naturally captivating places in Albania – this trip is for you. We start the day with a morning departure from the hotel and a scenic drive along Lake Vau and Dejes, offering beautiful views of the mountains and water.

Our destination is Lake Koman – a place often called ‘Albanian Thailand’ due to its exotic scenery. To get there, we walk through a rock-hewn tunnel to the dam level and then board motorboats. The cruise on the lake is a true feast for the eyes – high rock walls, lush greenery, and emerald water create an unforgettable landscape.

After reaching the Shala River canyon, we stop at a wild, rocky beach where you can rest, sunbathe, swim, and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature. During the trip, a regional lunch is also provided at a local restaurant by the river – traditional Albanian dishes, full of flavor and freshness, are served.

After lunch, we will have free time for swimming, sunbathing, or – for those interested – a short trek to a viewpoint terrace with a panoramic view of the canyon. After a day full of impressions, we return by boat to the pier and then by coach to the hotel.
